Fixing a pinched nerve for migraine relief

I have not seen as good, immediate, and long lasting results from fixing my posture as I have from keto.  I have seen results they have just taken longer, and I’m not sure how long they will last without continued treatment due to my extreme hypermobility.

The treatment started out with a sarapin injection in my neck.  Sarapin helps reduce inflammation and break down scar tissue.  Two things my neck is struggling with.  I have had 3 so far.  The inflammation has reduced to a significantly smaller area. The crazy result I was not expecting was my singing range has expanded an additional 3 notes and my voice is more free so I can sing faster, more complicated runs. That was a very happy moment when I discovered I’d recovered those skills. I pulled out music from college and sang it for my husband with the excitement of a 5 year old showing off a new trick.

At the beginning of treatment I went in twice a week for chiropractic adjustments, traction, and vegus nerve stimulation. After about a month of that schedule I started going once a week. I’m skipping this week to see how I handle it.  At the very beginning I told the chiropractor that I’m hyper mobile. He kinda just smiled and nodded. After about 6 weeks of adjustments he said “You’re not double jointed, you’re quadruple jointed. You move in ways that I have never seen before and shouldn’t be possible.”  At one point he am has Also said there are times I’m not sure the adjustments have worked because I can’t always feel when your joints slide into place. Also at the beginning of treatment I asked about bracing for pain relief. I got the standard answer that it is better to strengthen than to brace.  About 3 weeks ago I brought up compression clothes as a bracing method. He agreed that wearing compression clothes a few hours a day would be good for me and give my muscles a break.  I’ve started wearing my compression shirt and pants for a few hours almost everyday and it feels good, at least until the squeeziness starts to overstimulate me.

About 6 weeks ago I started core exercises at the clinic. 2 weeks ago I graduated from core work at the clinic to a posture monitor that buzzes if I slouch too much.  It has been pretty easy to wear because I already had good back posture. It however doesn’t detect forward head leaning so I have to be very cognizant of that because that is a wear a lot of my tension comes from.

Overall the migraines stemming from tension headaches have all but disappeared. I am still experiencing muscle pain and fatigue that I have come to accept as par for the course with hypermobility.
