Rabbit Hole

Today I was going to write about how I perceived the difference between perfectionism and being prepared as possible so you can do your best. Well guess what? NOT TODAY!

Instead I went on Instagram and saw a reel about a family remodeling a school into a home. I thought that looks cool. I wonder how affordable/unaffordable that would be? Also realizing that I would never have the follow through to remodel a whole school into a dwelling or multiple dwelling units. I still looked into it.

There were a couple of really old schools in rural areas we could purchase, but not afford to remodel. Then I saw a new building being sold with a lease back with an NNN lease. And I thought I wonder what that is.

Well an NNN lease is a type of commercial lease agreement where the tenant pays a lower rent price, but is in charge of taxes, insurance, and maintenance. I thought that seems like a nice investment opportunity. I wonder what the qualifications for it are.

Looked into it, and we don’t qualify, but there was a work around.  You can invest in it by using a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). Then the information started to get boring because it was talking about tax implications and I gave up. My brain shuts off if we start reading about taxes. And yes, my brain and I are we, not me.

And that my friends is why Instagram and Google are dangerous places for people with ADHD. We go down rabbit holes, or as I’ve heard a lot, side quests, and then don’t get done what we started out to do. It’s also how we have a lot of random information stored and available to share with anyone willing to listen.

I’ll write about perfectionism another time.
